Recommender systems have been used to improve software requirements engineering activities. This paper reviews literature on recommender systems for requirements engineering research since 2012. It discusses the common techniques used in recommender systems, the issues addressed by the recommender systems found in the literature, and challenges that still need to be addressed. Approaches to address some of the challenges are proposed.
